  - Which one is correct?
 
  - WW carby gasket. Top left repro from club I think, top right original and bottom installed by carby shop but part of the gasket is missing at pump valve seems by design not cut or blown.
 
  - Original problem was excess fuel in exhaust when down shifting.
 
  - Always running rich no matter what I adjusted.

  - I don't think it really matters. As long as the Bolt holes are right.
 
  - The bit missing is common, the solid top will not matter as there is nothing there to cover.

  - Check the base plate is correct, Leyland base plates are different to Holden and Ford ones.
 
  - To large of main jet, maybe. Stromberg carbs are great.

  - Yeah I don't think the missing bit around the squirter plunger well on the lower one matters.
 
  - It's above the well.
 
  - All it would do is let air or bypassed fuel back into the top of the bowl.

  - Excess fuel being burnt in exhaust pipe when foots off the gas.
 
  - Stripped carby last night and the jets and squirters match out in size.
 
  - Also have an msd ignition which could also be the problem

  - have a look at the dizzy, in particular vac advance function.
 
  - That's primarily what it's for, to control ignition on overrun.
